From 1964 to 1969 Karl Goldammer attended the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt (Graphic Arts Teaching and Research Institute) in Vienna and then worked at the Academy of Applied Arts. From 1972 on he worked as a freelance artist and had numerous exhibitions in Austria and abroad. His preferred motifs were architectural representations in a very detailed, realistic painting style.
Karl Goldammer lived in Maria Anzbach, where the Goldammer Museum was located until 2018.
